When “Walk in the City” meets the New year of the Miao ethnic group, it’s time to be Miao girls in Leishan County!

当“一巷一味”遇上节日限定，我们在雷山苗年变身苗疆少女！

The Miao New year is called "Nengyang" in Miao language, which means "having New Year meal". It celebrates the good harvest this year and wishes the best for the coming year. In such a delightful festival, how many steps does it take to become Miao girls?

苗年，苗语称之为“能央”，意为“吃年饭”，庆贺今年好收成，也祝愿来年皆顺利。在这样的节日里，成为苗疆少女需要几步？

Step No.1: Wear Miao traditional dresses

Miao clothing can be said to be the most distinctive feature of Miao ethnic group. On this day of the Miao New Year, we wear Miao dresses and silver adornments to experience the festive vibe. The beautiful sound made by the collision of silver adornments seems to be the New Year's bell ringing gently in our ears, guiding us to a feast of the Miao New Year.

第一步：换上一身全新装备

苗族谚语说，“无花无银，不成姑娘；有衣无银，不成盛装”， 苗服可以说是苗族姑娘身上最显著的特点。在苗年这一天穿花戴银，身着苗族盛装，听银饰碰撞出清脆的乐音，仿佛新年的钟声在耳边轻轻敲响，指引我们奔赴一场苗年的盛宴。

Step No.2 Join the parade of thousands of people

Have you ever seen a parade composed of 48 intangible cultural heritage formations? Not only are tea, rice, mushrooms and other Miao specialties displayed, but there are also people of all ages dressed in various traditional costumes and playing the Lusheng. Every song they sing and every step they dance brings joy and happiness.

第二步：加入万人非遗巡游

见过48个非遗方阵组成的巡游队伍吗？不仅有茶叶、稻米、菌菇、米酒等苗家特色风物展示，更有男女老少、兄弟姐妹身穿各式民族服饰，吹起芦笙、弹起牛腿琴，跳起“三步舞”，好似一个露天行走的非遗博物馆，所到之处，活色生香。

Step No.3 Enjoy the long-table banquet

As the highest ceremony of the Miao banquet, the long-table banquet is a must-have tradition in the Miao new year. Sour soup fish, Guzang pork and lots of dishes can tickle your taste buds, let alone the unique "High Mountain and Flowing Water"! The sweet rice wine flows into your mouth along the jug and bowl, let’s give a toast to the hospitality of the Miao people!

第三步：品尝地道千人“长桌宴”

作为苗族宴席的最高仪式和隆重礼仪，长桌宴是苗年不可错过的环节。酸汤鱼、鼓藏肉、白切鸡，更有独一份的“高山流水”式敬酒。香甜米酒顺着酒壶酒碗流入口中，苗家人的热情好客都在酒里！
